They come in a few different styles, but ultimately are comfortable cocoons made to keep your baby afloat. They are adjustable and have a crotch strap to prevent the vest from riding up. Plus a head collar to keep baby's head out of the water during dips. All of Bart's Watersport's infant vests also have a grab strap at the top that makes whisking a baby out of the water easy and quick.

Child & Youth Life Jackets
Child and Youth vests get better each year. They're made with a softer material than vests of the past, so you can avoid some of the discomfort that comes along with bringing your young'in out on the boat. Child vests have a crotch strap that helps keep the vest from riding up and a grab strap for easy handling. These puppies can fit 30-50 pounders. Youth vests fit 50-90 lb wearers. If your child spends more time in the lake than on the boat, Bart's Watersports recommend a neoprene vest. The soft neoprene material will help prevent chafing, keeping your kiddo safe and comfortable for an all-day lake-day.

When your kiddo has outgrown their kid vest but is not quite ready for an adult-sized vest, these in-between sizes help fill the gap. Non-USCGA Vests
Let's be really clear-- impact vests are not US Coast Guard Approved. This means that these vests are more of an apparel item than a PFD. They also DO NOT count as your USCGA device that you must have onboard each boat. There is still a purpose for these vests as they do offer a small amount of floatiness and protection for those who are competition skiing and boarding who need maximum movability.
