Lake lore is a common theme in the Great Lakes. Tales of mysterious shipwrecks, mermaids, and serpents can be found everywhere. Researchers recently discovered what might be the remenants of a serpant at the bottom of Lake Erie, but no....it isn't what you're thinking.
The Lake Serpent is a ship that sank in Lake Erie in 1829. If it is confirmed that this shipwreck, discovered in 2015, is the same Serpent, then it will become the oldest shipwreck to have been discovered in Lake Erie.
