by Nathaniel Siddall, The Manchester Enterprise Farmers in the River Raisin watershed are finding ways to reduce the runoff that is contributing to water quality problems in Lake Erie. The problem gained national attention earlier this summer, when drinking water in Toledo was contaminated by an algal bloom. Local farmers were recently invited on a cruise on Lake Erie, sponsored by a coalition of agencies, to see the algae problem first hand, and to learn about practices and programs to reduce runoff. http://heritage.com/articles/2014/09/15/manchester_enterprise/news/doc5410cffe2365c625625744.txt
