Guided Tour -- Grand Haven, Michigan

You're a Grand Ol' Haven

Published in the December 2017 Issue November 2017 Feature Tyffani Hoff

Right about now in New Haven, Mich., someone is probably sledding or skiing down the beautiful sloping landscapes. Maybe they just wiped out and have snow up to their unmentionables. Luckily, that’s not you.

But when you go this spring, there’ll be trees budding, flowers blooming and kites a-flyin’.

The beckon call of this haven comes from the beauty of the potential grand experiences that travelers will enjoy.

“Being a waterfront destination we have a variety of things that attract visitors here: the lighthouse, the boardwalk, the beach, the musical fountain,” said Marci Cisneros from visitgrandhaven.com.

Experience Grandeur

Pull your boat up to one of the many marinas along the boardwalk, which is also lined with shops, restaurants and charter fishing boats. With a name like boardwalk, you’d think it was a great place for walking, and it is. But step off the paved path onto the grassy knolls and benches, and you’ll find yourself a great place to people or boat watch. The boardwalk extends along the Grand River and travels out to Lake Michigan where you can take photos of the lighthouse or just enjoy the scene.
