A Connector for Nearly Any Global Shore Power Need

January 2023 News

As boat exports and imports continue to grow worldwide, boatbuilders face increased demand for CE-certified electrical power systems that provide end-users with increased compatibility when traveling abroad. Hubbell Marine offers a comprehensive line of internationally rated shore power connections in both twist-lock and pin-and-sleeve configurations to meet a range of power needs.

Among its conventionally styled twist-lock designs, Hubbell internationally rated connectors and inlets come in 16A/230V, 32A/230V 50-cycle and 63A/230V configurations, as well as a 50A 125/250V version, to suit a wide range of boats and yachts. Each twist-lock connector body utilizes nickel-plated brass construction and heat-resistant thermoset interiors for superior conductivity and long life in extreme environments.

Hubbell inlet offerings include stainless steel models incorporating a gasketed, self-closing threaded cover for making a watertight seal that's IP56 rated. For applications where a white finish is preferred, Hubbell has UV-resistant, non-metallic inlets that are weatherproof IP55 rated when the Centrex® cover is closed. Both types of inlets incorporate nickel-plated brass contact blades to guard against corrosion, and a heat-resistant thermoset interior. They have easy-to-wire terminations, as well as mounting holes that match industry standards for simple upgrades.

Hubbell also offers pin-and-sleeve devices that are dual-rated to match international and North American configurations, in 16A/20A, 32A/30A and 63A/60A, at 220-240V/250V. The inlet, connector, receptacle and plug models all feature rugged construction and secure, safe connections that withstand a harsh marine environment. These Hubbell pin-and-sleeve offerings are fully interchangeable with other brands of UL1686 C1 devices.

To complete any of these shore power connections, Hubbell has a superior range of boots, cordsets, weatherproof plates and covers to suit every need. Its products are sold worldwide, supported by a global network of offices, distributors and dealers. Suggested retail prices for internationally rated devices start as low as $33.30 for connector bodies (16A model HBL316CRCX), $72.05 for non-metallic inlets (16A model HBL316NM) and $132 for stainless steel inlets (16A model HBL316SSX).
