December 2021 Feature

Highfield Boats has pushed the technology and luxury of its RIB range to its furthest limits yet with the launch of the all-new Sport 900.

The Sport 900 is a true offshore mile-crunching cruiser, capable of 60-mph performance and amazing seakeeping abilities, while providing all the luxuries demanded of a high-end day boat or tenderIts all-weather hull design and long-range capability is designed to allow owners to spend the maximum amount of time out on the water.

At 29’ 11” (9.12 meters) in length, Highfield’s Sport 900 now tops the company’s Sport range of leisure boats, ahead of the Sport 800, launched last year, and the Patrol 860 in Highfield’s rugged commercial RIB range.

Tom Watson, general manager of Highfield Boats USA, said: “In the past five years, we have seen the market for larger offshore-capable RIBS grow as superyachts continue to get larger, outboard-powered day boats soared in popularity, and customer demands have continued to evolve. That is why Highfield keeps pushing the boundaries of its high-end RIB offerings.”

The SP900 has a hull deadrise angle of 26 degrees in order to provide comfort and performance in rough sea conditions. Like all the RIBs in the Highfield Sport range, which starts at 9’ 8”the new Sport 900 model is easy to tow, launch and recover due to its light weight and integrated davit lifting eyes. The Sport 900 is built to be tough and will not delaminate or absorb water over time, so it will retain the same agile performance in 10 years’ time as on its first day afloat.

The Sport 900 features EVA teak throughout, integrated fuel tanks, upscale diamond-stitched upholstery and a swim platform, so each day on board will be enjoyed to the maximum. Luxury touches also include a Vitrifrigo refrigerator, sunbrella top, kitchenette and shower kit. The onboard gathering spaces are further enhanced by the integrated rear seat with cushion, bow and stern sundeck, and rear table.

Highfield Boats worked with the world’s highest-quality component providers to create a superior list of standard features on board the Sport 900. Its tubes are formed from ORCA® Hypalon, and the hull is of constructed of high-tensile chromated and powder-coated aluminum with flush-mount non-return valves and a self-draining deck. Thanks to Highfield’s aluminum hull, there is no need to worry about gelcoat chips when putting the boat on a beach or trailer.

The new Highfield Sport 900 will debut in the U.S. market in the fall of 2022.
