Traditional metal hinges seldom last in harsh marine environments, as repeated use wears away protective coatings to accelerate corrosion. Durable plastic hinges from Beckson Marine offer comparable strength and far greater durability, with the added benefit of a unique design that meets challenging mounting situations.
Formed from injection-molded acetal resin and fitted with genuine Monel pins, Beckson plastic hinges are lightweight and strong, being breaking strength tested to 150 lbs. They're impervious to rust and corrosion. Two styles are offered, both in black or white, with custom colors available to OEMs for quantity orders.
Beckson HGAP Series Full Opening Hinges swing a complete 180˚ yet are flat when closed so hatch covers lay level. They come in four lengths: 1-3/4", 3", 4" and 6"; all are 1-1/2" wide. Beckson's unique design enables users to buy two different-sized hinges and interchange their parts, helpful when an installation's clearance isn't equal on both sides.
When off-level mounting is needed, Beckson HGB Series Offset Hinges are the answer. At 1-1/2" wide, their dual Monel pins and gap between each side forgive slight height variations. This also provides up to a 3/4" setback from the hatch or door edge. Offset Hinges likewise have interchangeable parts and come in four lengths: 2-1/4", 3-1/2", 4-7/16" and 6-7/16".
