New Veratron N2K Sensors Report Nav and Weather Data

October 2020 News

Two critical types of data on any vessel are navigation and weather. With Veratron's NMEA 2000® certified Acqualink NavSensor and Wind Sensors, it's never been easier to add this essential equipment to any refit or new build. Plug-and-play, they can be used with any multifunction N2K-networked multifunction display—Veratron's or a competitor's.

The Veratron AcquaLink NavSensor detects and reports an impressive array of data. The GPS receiver module provides position, speed and vector data, and UTC time. The inertial sensor delivers pitch and roll data. An integrated fluxgate compass with a +/- 40° tilt angle delivers course heading and the information needed by a networked autopilot to stay on course. Built-in barometer and air temperature sensors offer indicators of impending weather changes.

The 3.9" W x 3.1" H radome of Veratron's AcquaLink NavSensor has an IPX6 extended protection rating. It's powered by the NMEA network and operates between -4° and 158° F. It comes with two mounting brackets and is only 14 oz. to minimize weight aloft.

Veratron's NMEA 2000 Wind Sensor and NMEA 2000 Vertical Mast Unit Wind Sensor are engineered to provide exceptionally accurate wind data. Highly reliable, they're built to withstand constant weather extremes.

The standard NMEA 2000 Wind Sensor has a 22" shaft to mount away from rigging that could lead to biased measurements. The NMEA 2000 Vertical Mast Unit Wind Sensor has a 40" mast that raises the device even higher into clear air, above any turbulence caused by sails. They are powered by the NMEA network.

Veratron AcquaLink NavSensor (PN A2C59501981) costs $599.99; the NMEA 2000 Wind Short Arm Sensor (PN A2C59501984) is $499.99; and the NMEA 2000 Vertical Mast Unit Wind Sensor with Front Bracket (PN A2C1029570003) is $1,274.99. They come with a two-year warranty.

Veratron's AcquaLink is a suite of high-performance digital and analog instrumentation. Designed for ease of use and installation, the products use only premium materials for unmatched reliability. The state-of-the-art solution monitors networked engines, navigation and other critical vessel information.
