Is Winter Getting You Down? Try Iceboating

January 2019 Feature Lane Miles Web Exclusive

Are you snuggled at home warm beneath your blankets or perhaps sitting in your office with your back to the heater? Wherever you are, we hope you’re warm but that you also remember to enjoy these winter months. We know that can be a little but hard to do when the time to enjoy the Great Lakes again seems so far away, but there are a few activities that might make venturing out into the snowy tundra worth your while.

Cedar Point is an amusement park located on Lake Erie with enough rides to keep a person entertained through the entire summer. However, the park isn’t just known for its sweet summer days. There are also winter activities to participate in, such as iceboating.

Iceboating might not be the most well-known activity on the Great Lakes, but it is definitely one of the most worth-while. An iceboat is a sailboat that glides across the lake on skis. There are relatively few groups that participate in this activity, so stopping by Cedar Point to watch these beauties glide is definitely worth your time.
