Fairline At The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show

August 2017 Feature

British luxury motor yacht manufacturer, Fairline Yachts, still celebrating its 50th anniversary year, will showcase the new Targa 63 GTO, the first fully Alberto Mancini-designed Fairline, at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, hot on the heels of its worldwide debut at Cannes Yachting Festival in September and U.S. debut at the United States Powerboat Show in Annapolis in October.

The Targa 63 GTO was announced in the summer of 2016 to great excitement from motor yacht enthusiasts across the globe, as the world waited for the first glimpse of the highly-coveted 63-footer. This is the first of the new generation of models from Fairline Yachts, aptly launched during Fairline’s golden year with the brand celebrating 50 years of boat building.

Featuring the world-class combination of Mancini’s stunning Italian styling, rigorous and proven naval architecture by renowned Dutch firm Vripack and the hand-crafted, made in Great Britain quality of Fairline’s passionate and skilled craftsmen, the Targa 63 GTO is set to take center stage.

Visitors to the Fairline booth during the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show will not only be able to experience the brand new Targa 63 GTO, but also three other Fairline yachts, including the 2018 Squadron 65, the recently launched Squadron 53 and the stunning Targa 53 OPEN.

Russell Currie, managing director at Fairline Yachts, comments, “We are looking forward to showcasing the first fully Mancini-designed Fairline yacht, the Targa 63 GTO, at this year’s Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. Our aim at Fairline Yachts has always been to create boats that customers want to own and dealers want to sell, and we are proud to have done just that with the Targa 63 GTO. We relish the opportunity to welcome customers both old and new to our booth this November.”

Squadron 65

Following a sumptuous interiors update and new factory fitted hardtop option, both launched at Cannes Yachting Festival last September, Fairline has further enhanced the popular Squadron 65. The newly-updated model will be making its U.S. debut at Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show 2017.

Spectacular new windows, which sweep elegantly across the Squadron 65’s hull, are a styling cue from renowned superyacht designer Alberto Mancini. Enabling the interior of the lower deck to be bathed in natural light, this style of hull window has become a feature across other Fairline models including the 48-foot range, along with the eagerly anticipated Targa 63 GTO.

Luxurious furnishings and hand-worked cabinetry are hallmarks of the Squadron range, and nowhere is it more elegantly expressed than in the latest Squadron 65, which features a new foredeck entertaining area offering uninterrupted sea views, spacious seating and sunbeds, teak dining table and sky canopy.

Squadron 53

Launched during Fairline’s 50th anniversary year at Boot Dusseldorf in January 2017, Fairline’s new Squadron 53 was crafted with Alberto Mancini’s design expertise. The yacht, based on Fairline’s existing and well proven 53-foot hull, features a new Mancini design from the deck upward, showcasing the direction of Fairline’s future exterior styling.

Mancini’s design has resulted in a spacious main deck with a flat floor from the cockpit to the lower helm, which in turn ensures a flat ceiling in the master cabin, offering a generous six-foot-four-inch headroom at the foot of the large double bed, adding to the overall sense of space in this expansive 55-foot-six-inch-long (16.92-meter) cruiser. With foredeck seating, a cockpit sun bed and a large flybridge, there’s room to spare whether it’s a short cruise or an extended stay onboard.

Handcrafted to order by Fairline’s highly experienced and dedicated craftsmen in Oundle, England, the new Squadron 53 offers luxury boaters total command and control, thanks to its striking swept flybridge, whilst exuding style and offering great entertaining spaces onboard. Fairline’s approach, from superior engineering and multiple layout options to small details that delight, makes the Squadron 53 the perfect choice for those who want their yacht their way.

Targa 53 OPEN

The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show sees another U.S. debut from Fairline Yachts. The Targa 53 OPEN express cruiser maximizes the feeling of freedom and fun on the water by providing uninterrupted entertaining space above decks and in the spacious two or three cabin layout, exceptionally comfortable accommodation below. This sleek and stylish cruiser is emphasised by an eye-catching, tapered hull glazing that accentuates the dynamic character of this sporty Targa model.

The Targa 53 OPEN offers a choice of two shaft driven engine options from Volvo — D11-675 and D11-725 — offering a minimum fully loaded top speeds in excess of 30 knots and a range of at least 300 nautical miles at a cruising pace. There is also the ability to add stabilization, with the boat engineered to accept a Seakeeper NG5 gyroscopic stabilizer.

Fairline’s network of U.S. dealers will be represented on the Fairline booth throughout the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, together with key personnel from Fairline’s design and manufacturing teams, to provide visitors with in-depth information about the company and its ranges going into the 2018 season.
