Cities and counties in Illinois are among the 143 governmental bodies that have passed resolutions opposing a proposed nuclear waste dump in Kincardine, Ontario, less than a mile from Lake Huron. The proposed site, officially called a Deep Geologic Repository, is about 100 miles north-northeast of Port Huron.
