Changes proposed for border

Leeds-Grenville MP Gord Brown and counterpart U.S. Congressman Bill Owens (NY- 23) have announced international companion legislation that they hope will prevent a repeat of the border-water situation that befell American boater Roy Anderson in May.

Anderson, of Baldwinsville, N.Y., was arrested, and his boat seized, May 30 by officers of the Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) for not checking in with a customs office.
