Superior hot spot starts to recover

One of the so-called polluted hot spots on the Canadian side of Lake Superior may soon be considered not-so-hot. The Lake Superior Binational Forum, a Canada-U.S. agency that monitors environmental issues on the big lake, is to consider a recommendation to upgrade Jackfish Bay to “an area of recovery,” forum officials said in the agency’s 2010 annual report.
