Water think tank gets grant
A Milwaukee philanthropist is giving $2.6 million to launch a water policy think tank at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, adding an additional dimension to a broad raft of metro-area initiatives in the area of water engineering, entrepreneurialism and global water economics. The gift from Lynde Uihlein will support an endowed chair and director for the new Center for Water Policy, which will be part of the new graduate-level School of Freshwater Sciences at UWM, which focuses on water ecology and engineering.
