Utility Officially Asks To Build Turbines Near Lake Michigan

Consumers Energy has now officially put in an application for a permit to build the first large wind farm along the coast of Lake Michigan. The utility wants more than 50 wind turbines on land south of Ludington. A spokesman for Consumers says the plan meets all the current zoning rules. But Mason County's planning commission is considering changes to those rules.
