DNR pulling out all stops in the war on lake invaders

 

Lake Mille Lacs biologists predict a 30-fold increase in zebra mussels this summer, meaning a thick layer of mussels soon could foul Minnesota's most popular walleye lake. Worried citizens and government officials will hold an invasive species legislative "summit" Saturday in Detroit Lakes, hoping to persuade state lawmakers to do more to fight the spread of zebra mussels and other unwanted aquatic critters.
