Marrone Bio gets $500K National Science Foundation grant
Marrone Bio Innovations Inc. of Davis has been awarded a $500,000 National Science Foundation grant to commercialize green technology for controlling zebra mussels — and $100,000 in supplemental funding for commercial partnerships. The company was awarded a commercialization grant of $500,000 in March 2008; the two new grants will provide further funding to help the company commercialize Zequanox, a natural product for controlling invasive zebra and quagga mussels. The technology was originally discovered by Dr. Daniel Molloy, director of the New York State Museum’s field research laboratory.
