White Lake community's next environmental clean-up focus: former DuPont site

WHITE RIVER TOWNSHIP, MI -- Members of a White Lake advocacy group and the state's environmental regulatory agency have become quite familiar over the years. The lake's status as a federally designated Area of Concern, making it one of the most polluted spots in the Great Lakes, and the area's various contaminated sites have led the White Lake Public Advisory Council and Michigan Department of Natural Resources and Environment to work together on multiple cleanup efforts.
