MUSKEGON, MI -- Two tall ships arriving in Muskegon Thursday frustrated enthusiasts' attempts to see them, with one docking hours ahead of schedule and the other arriving late. Both the Bark Europa and the Roald Amundsen were expected to sail up Muskegon Channel to the Mart Dock at about 4 p.m. Thursday. The Bark Europa arrived at about 12:30 p.m. The Roald Amundsen arrived later than 5:30 p.m. A crowd of several hundred people gathered by 4 p.m. to watch the ships come in, but most had drifted away before the Roald Amundsen arrived. |
