Although shipwrecks conjure up images of ships sinking in open seas or running aground on dangerous shoals, lakes have claimed their share of shipwrecks. According to NOAA, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the Great Lakes alone have claimed more than 12,000 boats and ships. |
