Erie's lakeshore: open to the public, but with limits

The Lake Erie shoreline stretches for 76.6 miles, up and around Presque Isle State Park, along a meandering route from the Ohio to New York state lines. The law allows public access along the entire stretch, where navigation is possible. But getting to the shoreline, traveling in the wrong area and lingering in spots can sometimes cause problems.
