Great Lakes Historical Society gets grant to continue preserving history

Established in 1944, the Great Lakes Historical Society is dedicated to preservation of the history of the Great Lakes. Currently located in Vermilion, the museum’s collection includes ship models, navigational equipment, a lens from the Spectacle Reef Lighthouse, artifacts from the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald, timbers from Oliver Hazard Perry’s ship, and an extensive collection of maritime art work.
