Drilling for oil isn't allowed in the Great Lakes under state or federal law, and a measure to add that ban to the state constitution could go before voters in November. It's become a subject of debate among Michigan's gubernatorial candidates when confronted with the (somewhat) hypothetical question of how they would respond if Canada tried to drill in the lakes. |
