Federal officials make sure dredging in the Fox River continues
Maj. Gen. John Peabody, commander of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Great Lakes and Ohio River Division, conferred with officials overseeing the Fox River Cleanup Project to avoid a standoff similar to one that happened in 2009. “We need to make certain that things move ahead long term,” said Peabody, who met with the Brown County Harbor Commission before touring the facility that removes water from toxic sediment removed from river as part of the 10-year project.
