Old timers will tell you that summer used to be a busy time for anglers on Lake Michigan piers. It was shoulder-to-shoulder fishing for perch using cane poles in those days. But not anymore. The summer pier fishery has changed. Spring and fall still bring crowds out for steelhead and salmon, but early morning summer crowds are few and far between. |
