New York Power Authority has received five proposals from companies vying to construct the Great Lakes Offshore Wind (GLOW) project in New York State waters of Lake Erie and/or Lake Ontario. At a news conference Friday at Erie Basin Marina, NYPA President and CEO Richard Kessel said a multi-phase review process for the proposals would begin. He said one or perhaps multiple developers would be chosen by the fourth quarter of 2010 or the first quarter of 2011. Kessel said he was unable to reveal the names of those that submitted the five proposals and set a goal of 2015 to have the project up and running. |
