The Asian carp has, for lack of a better term, a serious public relations problem. The Environmental Protection Agency has classified it as an invasive species, noting that their size and rate of reproduction "could pose a significant risk to the Great Lakes Ecosystem." Feared and reviled, the carp, if predictions are correct, could likewise devastate the fishing industry in the Lakes. |
