Grant aims to reduce Nemadji’s red plume in Lake Superior

The federal government’s effort to clean up the Great Lakes will hit the Northland this summer with a reforestation effort miles away from Lake Superior. The U.S. Department of Agriculture this week announced $249,000 for a project aimed at reducing the sediment that fouls the Midway and Nemadji rivers and pours into Lake Superior during snowmelt and after nearly every rain.
