Fremont to get U.S. aid to remove Ballville dam

Fremont will get $400,000 in federal money to help it remove the 35-foot-high Ballville Dam on the Sandusky River. The announcement was made yesterday by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency, which identified Fremont as one of seven federal Clean Water Act grant recipients. The agency is divvying up nearly $2.9 million in federal funds among them.
