Lake Erie Boat Week Public Meeting Set for March 8

Feb 16 2010

Potential Volunteers, Sponsors, Media, Suppliers and General Public Encouraged to Attend

(Huron, OH – February 15, 2010) – The 2010 Lake Erie Boat Week (LEBW) planning process is on schedule, on track, and headed toward a fantastic inaugural event in September!

Lake Erie Boat Week officials will host a Public Meeting in Huron, Ohio, on Monday, March 8, 2010, at Mesenburg’s Plaza Place (545 Cleveland Road West, Huron, Ohio) at 6:30 PM, regarding the proposed 2010 event, to be held September 7-12, 2010, on and around the Huron River and Huron Boat Basin park area.

Lake Erie Boat Week is a six-day festival to celebrate the boating lifestyle on Lake Erie that will attract 100,000+ people and an estimated $5+ million to the local economy.  The LEBW event will consist of a Powerboat Regatta, “Fastest Boat on Lake Erie” Competition, and an APR Powerboat Superleague race (100-mph boats), to be contested in the Huron River.  To see a general overview of the Lake Erie Boat Week event, please view the Marketing information for the event, which can be found on the www.LakeErieBoatWeek.com “Partners” page.

During the Public Meeting on March 8th, Janie Vogel, Creator and Event Director for Lake Erie Boat Week, will make a presentation on this new event and answer any questions that attendees and potential participants may bring up.  The meeting will be split into two different sections: The first will be a general presentation about the event and progress toward September’s inaugural presentation, with a Q & A session afterwards; The second will be directed toward anyone interested in volunteering for the event.

Lake Erie Boat Week officials strongly encourage interested individuals, potential volunteers, vendors, advertisers, sponsors, media, local business owners, local community officials and the general public to attend for an opportunity to hear the benefits of this event and address any questions or concerns they might have regarding a 2010 Lake Erie Boat Week event.

For anyone with the ability to place events on your website, in your newsletter, in your media outlet, or on any Community Calendar, please include Lake Erie Boat Week at the Huron Boat Basin – with dates including September 7-12, 2010 – in your promotion of events for the area.

Partnership opportunities are currently available for the 2010 Lake Erie Boat Week event.  Please contact the Event Director for a specific discussion on how this event can be a benefit to your business this year and beyond.
