Sheboygan River cleanup heads to next phase

Officials are finalizing plans for the next phase of a now decades-old project to dredge contaminated sediments from the Sheboygan River.
Work could begin as early as this spring to remove polychlorinated byphenyls — a known carcinogen, commonly called PCBs — from the lower stretches of the river between the Waelderhaus Dam in Kohler and the inner harbor near Lake Michigan.
