Public boating access to North Lake in Waukesha County likely will not be accomplished this year, despite the state Department of Natural Resources' enthusiastic announcement in November that the time had come, state environmental officials say. DNR officials this week are taking steps to withdraw environmental permits that the agency granted to itself last fall to build a public boat launch on the northwest shore in the Town of Merton, spokeswoman Laurel Steffes said. |
