Lake Erie let down creates the desire to help clean up

For the first time in my life I am embarrassed to say I live on Lake Erie.

I was a child living in Canton the first time I realized there was any kind of problem with the lake. My fourth-grade class was to go to Cleveland to see the museums and ride the Goodtime down the Cuyahoga River. Then my father asked, "Why would anyone want to ride on that smelly river?"
