Lake Erie trips inspired nautical garden

Jack Bernstein installed a pond behind his Columbus home 15 years ago so he wouldn't have to mow the backyard anymore.

But now he spends more time than ever working back there. Bernstein's pond expanded to a nautical-themed garden that takes up the entire yard and features a deck, fish, flowers, a miniature fishing village, a talking pirate and a 5-foot waterfall.
