by Jeri Packer, The Voice While Harsens Island residents got ready for weeks of life without use of the ferry service, the U.S. Coast Guard surprised them. After combined efforts of U.S. and Canadian Coast Guard cutters in the St. Clair River off of Harsens Island to relieve near-flood state water levels and re-establishing current and ice flow in the area, the USCG cutter Mackinaw remained overnight in the North Channel to assist the ferry in resuming service. http://www.voicenews.com/articles/2015/02/05/news/doc54ca5ab3e1139328997588.txt?viewmode=fullstory
