DNR warns about risky Lake Huron ice

THE THUMB — Don’t be fooled by the recent stretch of cold weather, Michigan Department of Natural Resources officials say ice fisherman sould still hold off on dropping a line in area waters.

“We’ve got old weather right now, but we’ve not had a lot of cold weather,” said DNR Lt. Ron Utt. “Right now, I would not tell people to go on any ice — it’s not thick enough.”
